Found out it was saline (or they lied about how many units were put in) after going back to my past Botox provider. They were adamant that I shouldn’t have “squishy” spots and that there was no way 40 units was put into my face considering I had near-full capacity of movement. Prior place has never done more than 30-34 units which always worked perfectly. They weren’t comfortable injecting over what had been done and told me to ask for the paperwork, including the BIN for the vial/vials used for me at that location.
So I e-mailed them. And they told me they would send nothing by e-mail and to come in. They stated “privacy concerns” about e-mailing me any paperwork. That makes zero sense, so I went in.
I met with the person who did the injections, told her I did not want more and was only there for the paperwork which should include the batch number for the Botox vial used. She then went to get the owner, Roman, from his office.
This is where things went very poorly- the man yelled at me. Straight up told me I didn’t know anything, that I just wasn’t used to 40 units, and knew nothing about my face, that prior providers lied to me and kept going on about more injections that he’d now give me for free. When I said no, that I only needed the paperwork, that I had gotten a second opinion, he continued to yell at me about how I “know nothing”. Also, an angry dude sticking needles in me? No, thanks. And here’s the thing- I know that different people need differing amounts of Botox. He was adamant that I didn’t know this, that I couldn’t possibly know what had worked for me in the past, and that I probably needed 60 units and had just never been told this before? It was so bizarre.
The man really spent a good 5 minutes yell-teaching me about how wrong I was about my face and any past experience with Botox. When I said I wanted to leave, he just kept yelling until he decided it was time for me to leave. No kidding- just harped on my inability to understand for a good 2-3 minutes until he said I should leave.
So I left a written request for the BIN, the name of the injector, the credentials, everything. And they wrote me back an email that stated, only, that I had refused further treatment. They still won’t give me the information, and that’s mostly why I decided to report them. They know they did something wrong. I can’t imagine any other reason to not simply send me the BIN for the vials, unless they never wrote it down or used something other than Botox, or a wildly stupid mix of saline & botox proper. So, ya know, live and learn.
