I was web searching for a good orthopedic surgeon that could repair a lumbar spinal surgery I had a year ago. By chance I ran into Dr. Wesley Bronson and choose him as my surgeon because he has my same initials and carries my first name. Signs from the Universe? I really did not know what I was looking for, but I am very glad I did choose him. What a blessing! As requested, I brought in all the MRI and CT scans from before and after surgery. Prior to seeing me, he had studied the images. As he entered into the room, his confidence, comfort, and energy projected made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I was able to describe my situation easily. He took the time to listen to me and asked questions for further clarification. He then, using the latest CT scan I brought from five months ago, showed me and explained to me why my pain has persisted and discussed in detail how he would correct the situation. He only ordered a CT scan of my lumbar area and cited me for a follow up visit. On the follow up visit, he showed me, in the CT scan, the multiple areas of lucencies around the hardware and the loosening of screws in some areas. He discussed his plan to remove the old instrumentation and place new one and also the need of further fusion to improve stabilization. He also discussed the risks of surgery, the possibility of a non-healing of fusion and the possible need for future surgery. We also discussed the need/desire of nonoperative therapy after the surgery. Based on my painful memory of my first surgery a year ago, from my hospital stay to my recovery at home, I was expecting a “horrific” recovery experience but less traumatic. However, since the moment I woke up from the surgery I was pain free and 5 weeks later still free of pain. I spent my days at the hospital resting and sleeping very comfortably. Dr. Bronson and his team and the hospital staff were very professional, pleasant, and attentive to my needs. At home after the discharge, I have no need of home attendance or friends taking care of me. While recovering, I reminded Dr. Bronson about the bone growth stimulating treatment we had discussed on my first visit because the approval of the stimulator by Medicare, by previous experience, could take a while. However, Dr. Bronson staff was able to get Medicare approval in a day and had the stimulator manufacturer come to my apartment to have the stimulator fitted the next day. To conclude, I would recommend that you consider Dr. Wesley Bronson when looking for an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the back. His credentials, experiences, achievements, and his skills are impressive. And more importantly are his confidence, humbleness, manners, professionalism, and my # 1 in the list: his capacity to hear and listen carefully to you so he could understand your maladies, your concerns, and your state of mind. He is easy and pleasant to talk to and he makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Dr. Bronson and his surgical team are an excellent group to place your health in their hands. Thank you very much.

Scoliosis/back pain have plagued me my whole life and I recently developed sciatica so severe I couldn't walk longer than a block or two without being in severe pain. I was desperate for a permanent solution after PT, spinal injections and powerful pain killers failed. I was so impressed with Dr Bronson and so happy that I decided to go forward with surgery. I was nervous but he has excellent bedside manner and explained everything to me in a way I could understand. He's brilliant, warm, handsome and friendly. After my surgery, my friends and family eagerly awaited an update and he calmly informed my best friend that the procedure went well and everyone could relax knowing I was in excellent hands. My expectation was that post-surgery I would be pain free, but my entire body feels better. I'm so grateful. I have my life back and it's because of Dr Bronson. You can be pain free!!! My first appointment with Dr. Bronson was in December 2021. It did not take long for me to trust, and respect, him. Between his insights, thorough approach, encyclopedic knowledge of treatments and methodologies, and his obvious care for my long-term health, I was very grateful to have been referred to him. My ACDF surgery (to address a pinched nerve and C5 and C6 disk herniation) occurred on February 1, 2022. As a survivor of a traumatic brain injury, I know that time in the hospital can go any number of ways. Three weeks from the procedures, I am ambulatory, nearly pain-free, and healing. These have far more to do with Dr. Bronson's skills and acumen than my being a tough gal. Fact.

Dr. Wesley Broson is a great surgeon. He takes time to listen and carefully explains his plan. I went to him because I had an excruciating pain that radiated from my neck down my left arm. My arm was weakening and I couldnt lift anything. He immediately knew what was wrong and had a plan in place. I had a herniated cervical disc that needed to be removed. He scheduled the surgery quickly and I was pain free and the weakness was gone. I highly recommend Dr. Bronson and his team especially if you need surgery.

I saw Dr. Bronson for lower back pain and related pelvic pain/discomfort and unfortunately the appointment felt very rushed. Dr Bronson was dismissive of many of my symptoms and gave me advice which was later proven to be untrue (based on an explanation from a neurologist and an epidural I got later for the pain). I wish Dr. Bronson had been more thorough with my symptoms/scans. Though he may be a good spine surgeon I had a much better experience with another spine surgeon (who took more time to discuss my symptoms with me; he also looked at my MRIs instead of just my X-rays).
