My first encounter with Dr. Chiang was in the Mt. Sinai hospital related to needing a kidney stone removed. She was upbeat and positive, which I appreciated very much after enduring the emergency room to start my ordeal. She was clear about what she was going to do to solve my medical problem, answered all my questions without acting like she needed to leave, as well as, following up with my questions in a timely manner during recovery. I was grateful for her care, and my experience was so positive that she is now my regular Urologist.

Dr Simma-Chiang has been my very excellent urologist for three years, since I was hospitalized with a severe UTI. Last Saturday I again came down with an acute UTI, and sent her a message via Mt Sinai MyChart asking for advice. She replied almost at once, which I really appreciated at the weekend. She is always very responsive and thorough.

We are grateful that we were referred to Dr. Simma-Chiang. Her experience and expertise in managing chronic urinary tract infections have led my mother to be well for the first time in 6 months. Dr. Simma-Chiang's prompt replies to messaging, her professionalism, and her confidence in the comprehensive plan she communicated for managing my mother's health, have all contributed to giving our family invaluable peace of mind. Our mother is finally in the right hands. Thank you for your excellence, Dr. VSC!

Dr. Simma-Chiang is one of a kind. Most doctors I have seen, and especially urologists, take a very rigid approach to diagnosis. I tell them my symptoms, they immediately narrow it down to a few potential options. They run the scans and the tests, and if they come back negative, the doctor throws up his or her hands.
Dr. Simma-Chiang took an entirely different approach. She quickly realized that my symptoms were not consistent with the usual diagnoses, and started by asking questions about other changes to my life/lifestyle, and provided me with helpful insight on what may be causing my issues and how to remedy them. It is a rare approach in Western medicine but I wish more doctors approached patients in this way.

Did not have a very pleasant encounter with the doctor. I felt uncomfortable with her tone and how she was responding to me to my concerns and questions. she came off as condescending to me. I felt like she was not being friendly with me whatsoever especially given that she is a urologist and did not make any eye contact with me (was on her laptop most of the time), maybe because I was a male individual and this is how she treats male patients. I did not feel welcomed.
