Dr Amaral was amazing!! Beginning to end the experience with Dr Amaral and his staff was A+. From fitting me in for an emergency appointment to his PA Jamie and of course Dr Amaral himself. He took his time, explained everything and answered alllll my questions. Can’t thank him enough. If your child needs surgery I highly recommend.

Dr Amaral was kind, compassionate and is an incredible doctor. The negative posts are nonsense. If he has an emergency surgery for a child of course he is going to cancel a routine appointment or have somebody else assist you. He’s there when it matters and his manner when dealing with children and terrified parents is second to none.

Very nice, polite & soft spoken. He's a strict follower the- 'informed consent' & so detailed oriented that one might get all his/her answers even before asked, appreciate it a lot. "Compassion" another great quality he possesses, that's what makes a doctor a great doctor, which one might not see in many doctors now a days. Would recommend him to anyone in search for a great doctor👍👍

Met him last year to discuss spinal surgery for my son. Seemed like a nice guy. Since that time a year ago, surgery has been postponed about 3 times for one reason or another, but usually the same reason - secretary Alexis doesn't do what she's supposed to and always is postponed about 2 days before surgery date. This last go around, we were supposed to have surgery done July 26th. It got postponed until 8/4. July 30th, it was decided that it would get postponed again until September. I had put in for family leave already for the August date and now had to rearrange my work for Sept. Alexis said my son was told surgery not happening and that it would "be around Sept 8th" but that once a date was confirmed, she would fill out my leave papers. She filled out September 6th. You would think date was confirmed, no? My son emailed her last week to see if surgery still on. No answer. He called on Friday and was told someone from hospital would call. No call night before. I call answering service and left message. No call back. When I spoke to one of the lovely individuals that answers the phone was told yesterday was a holiday (Labor Day). Um, you're a surgeon. Aren't you on call or have someone cover for you? I called 5 times today and was unable to speak with Alexis because "she doesn't know anything. The doctor will call you." No time as to when dr would call. Finally told on one of my 5 calls that dr would call me tomorrow. Unacceptable when you have a procedure that was supposed to have been done today. Finally told that dr would call me this afternoon. Told that procedure would not be happening this week, because of my son's age (he's 25. They knew this when he first saw dr. What's the surprise?) They have to get staff and everything prepared (which was same excuse given for last postponement.). When were they going to tell me that today's procedure was postponed? Absolutely no communication. Alexis acts like she's too important to speak to anyone. Not sure if Dr A knows of everything that has gone on with this, but he's not completely innocent, either. Had a couple of wasted visits and extra x-ray appointments because he forgot to get films of my son's hips when he ordered spine ones. Bottom line - go to another orthopedist. This office does not care about how your life has to be rearranged when your child has to have surgery. They don't call back or answer emails. They won't come to the phone. Go someplace else.

Very dissatisfied. I waited 4 weeks for an appointment and then when I bring my child, He only sees the physician assistant. 2 months later and my son is still complaining of pain in his knee. Staff over the phone was not helpful on trying to get me in sooner. The only good thing was the PA was nice, but we wanted the doctor. That's what I waited so long for. Otherwise I could have gone elsewhere. Waste of time. We will have to see another ortho for his knee for a 2nd opinion. These other reviews says he's nice. We wouldn't know because we didn't meet him! Edit: Some people have commented about how I do not know what I am talking about and this Dr is a great Dr. Well good for you, but this was MY (Key word) experience with this office. So take it or leave it. This is how my child and I were treated at this office.
