Dr. Bernstein is a hidden gem!!! I have been to so many rheumatologists and am also myself in the medical field and have been dealing with my disease since childhood. He is so kind and professional and not only that he is an absolute genius. He always takes care of my needs and makes me feel very appreciated as a patient. I highly recommend him and his staff is wonderful as well! I travel all the way from Florida to see him and he is well WORTH THE TRIP! :)

Dr Bernstein is always very well prepared for both tele-health conferences and office visits and always takes time to explain findings from my test results or therapy. He always listens to my concerns, explains thoroughly my treatment options and often give me referrals for additional tests. I can't say enough good about doctor Bernstein.

Dr Bernstein is an absolute treasure of a physician. He cares about all aspects of life and has so much knowledge to share. He digs deep to get to the bottom of any issues and is beyond thorough. I trust him with my health and wellness and my families as well. I am grateful for my quality of life he has given back to me. 100%

I would like to start this review by saying I typically am not one to run & leave low rating reviews. With my experience it has been warranted, and if I could help others save their time especially when it comes to their precious health, then why not? I am also in the healthcare field and I know how much reviews can affect a business. It pains me to write this, but here we are.
I did my research in finding what appeared to be a great rheumatologist for some concerns that arose with my ENT on some recent lab-work. I found Dr. Stephen Bernstein and I disregarded the other low reviews and now that I have experienced it firsthand, I wish I did not.
The experience initially started well with his administrative staff, but let me tell you, that was the only positive experience. They told me their protocol was to schedule an initial Telehealth visit with Dr. Bernstein which I did so, and the soonest appointment available was a month later. No problem, I get it. They accommodated my difficult schedule which I was so grateful for. They didn't have to, but they chose to.
I was sitting waiting for the call which I completely rearranged my workday for and guess what? No one called me. I called the office 6 minutes past my appointment time to touch base. They frantically stated "let me see if he got in okay". I then heard nothing until an hour past my appointment time which the front desk staff called me and they told me Dr. Bernstein had an "emergency" and the needed to reschedule my appointment. I reluctantly rescheduled to yesterday to give them the benefit of the doubt if an emergency actually did occur, and guess what, he didn't call me again until an hour past the appointment time. He then left me a voicemail (as I could not answer due to being at work) stating this appointment time isn't going to work for his schedule or for mine and that he would refer me to other doctors. My jaw was on the floor.
Now, why did your front desk accommodate me if it wasn't going to work, not once, but twice? And I found out that his front desk lied for him stating that he had an emergency because in his voicemail he stated otherwise.
I am so disappointed in the lack of professionalism and human decency from this Doctor and this office, and I strongly encourage you to avoid this practice. I am mortified for them. They can go ahead and leave a generic response to this but trust me, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Bizarre experience. The day of our scheduled intro call Dr. Bernstein was a no-show; I emailed his office and they told me he was on a plane and that he would call later. After I promptly replied explaining to them that I allocated a specific block of time away from my job for the appointment and asking when exactly he planned on calling, I did not hear back from them, prompting me to request they just cancel the whole thing.
Dr. Bernstein called me the next morning and asked if I had time, which I replied I did not because I had to work and couldn't take his call out of the blue. We then agreed to chat later that day. After explaining my health concerns he told me he would need time to ingest the information and that he would call back at some point; neither he nor his office told me when exactly that would be. He did eventually call a week or two later and told me to get some blood tests, which I did -- then never heard from him again.
Having dealt with so many doctors over the years for my chronic pain, I simply don't have the patience to deal with this kind of service. On to the next one. Hopefully your experience is better than mine.
