Had a really great experience with her. I've been to.a lot of doctors and she's the first that I sought out once I found out that she now takes my insurance. She is very personable and easy to talk to. My wait time was very minimal. She's great.

I had a complaint and also wanted to complete my annual exam. I was told I have to pick between either a normal pap smear or an infection work up. I explained that based on uspstf guidelines, both can be done during the same exam. I was told in a very condescending tone that it was not their policy and if I wanted, they can complete the pap today, and do a televisit without an actual test and send me Diflucan to the pharmacy. I told her how do you know what kind of infection I have without running a test and doing the pelvic exam. She said she has a feeling. Basically they wanted to be able to charge my insurance for annual and then another visit for the televisit. I proceeded with pap there and went to a different gyn the next day; the other gyn also expressed concerns about Dr McDaniels practices and confirmed that both exams should have been done in one visit and prescribing Diflucan without running a test was negligence because the patient can have a bacterial infection which can get worst with Diflucan. I would stay away from this practice as they do not have the best interest of their patient in mind.

New practice at NYU Langone Always late. ALWAYS. Longest time waited: 1.5 hours in person Had to reschedule 2 telehealth visits, because she did not make it on time When she did see me, I felt as if I was being rushed, I didn’t feel she was connecting with me. She felt like she was orbiting another planet - kind of like not enough caffeine. It may be the system that double triple books, but it’s just really awful patient care.

Really not friendly :/ I actually don’t mind if a doctor isn’t super friendly if they’re helpful and knowledgeable but she wouldn’t even answer my questions about my health during my annual exam since she prefers 1 appointment for 1 issue and anything beyond that is an additional appointment. Ignoring the financial reasons for this, i think that’s pretty short sided since often disparate medical issues are actually related but ok. I had a concern I wanted to bring up at my annual (spotting unexpectedly for more days of the month than not) and she not only scolded me for coming in to get a Pap smear while spotting (I couldn’t help it or predict it - it’s random - and it’s not easy to get a Gyn appointment in the first place…) but then said I would need to come back in to discuss that or do a separate zoom call. Maybe this is a NYC or NYU thing but I’ve never had a doctor tell me they would t even discuss a concern that is potentially serious at an apppintment (i don’t expect them to not bill me for it but I do expect if I bring it up they’ll at least be able to let me know if it’s serious or potentially serious - she wouldn’t even do that). i tend to not assume the worst, but I think everyone has probably, at some point or another, worried that some likely benign condition was actually serious and it was really annoying to have a doctor who had zero empathy for that - so if you get worried about maybe a lump being breast cancer or spotting for weeks being ovarian cancer or HPV, I do not recommend her, she doesn’t seem to care about people’s feelings or their time. I am disappointed because I feel like I was way nicer to her than was warranted. I even apologized for involuntarily/accidentally internally tensing during the Pap itself - I didn’t even realize / could see that I was doing it but she was annoyed lol. I’m lucky i dont experience pain even during that kind of procedure, especially now that i have experienced the attitude of this doctor. I wish I had looked at reviews before I had decided to see her! Please don’t make my mistake :)

I'm so disappointed because it is so difficult to find a Black OB-GYN in New York City that takes my insurance. I had high hopes for Dr. McDaniel, but the way I was treated was terrible and disrespectful. I thought I would never be spoken to in such a condescending fashion like she did with me. First, she didn't show up for our first virtual appointment. After her staff messed up my appointment and me calling her office numerous times to figure out what happened, she told me during our rescheduled appointment that it was on me for not knowing about her schedule changes. She stated her office informed all of her patients in multiple ways that she was not available for appointments during that particular week. I never received any correspondence from anybody and therefore the blame should not be put on me. Also I should not be talked over nor talked down during this whole process by my doctor. I feel so disheartened by this because I never thought an esteemed Black woman like herself would treat me or any patient like that. It wasn't my fault, and I'm very on top of my medical matters along with my contact information being updated for a long time. One last thing: if I received your messages about my medical results but I never received correspondence about your schedule updates, then it is clearly not me who messed up. You and your office never sent the updates, so therefore take accountability for your actions and don't disrespect your patients who've been with you for a very long time.
