Dr. Robert Chavez

Dr. Chavez is hands down the most caring doctor in NYC!! I have been a patient of his for over 12yrs. He cares about his patients above and beyond then any doctor I've ever known. Truly one of the greats in the medical industry.

A private practice feel with large clinic resources. Dr. Chavez is a great doctor and a pillar in the community! Recently in private practice, he is now medical director of this small clinic location which is part of the large AHF organization. The facility offers their own on-site pharmacy, phlebotomy drawing lab, and modern online health tools comparable to any large hospital or clinic. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Dr. Chavez is brilliant, experienced, knowledgeable and personable. His new on-site ”AHF Pharmacy - Chelsea” is awesome because they actually communicate back and forth with Chavez and insurance companies so that you don’t have to, they offer delivery services, and they always answer the phone so speaking to a pharmacist is easy. In addition, 99 cents of every dollar earned by their Pharmacy goes to help support the world-wide work of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, providing healthcare and activism on behalf of people with HIV/AIDS throughout the developing world. A very interesting organization I am proud to help support.

I love Dr. Chavez. Unlike most NYC doctors, he does not treat you like a cow in an assembly line. I have been in NYC for 21 years and have been a patient of Dr. Chavez for over 4 years now. His staff can get overwhelmed with calls and appointment requests easily, but that is because of the popularity of Dr. Chavez.

I have been seeing doc Chavez for over 15 years. He is one of the most caring, accessible and knowledgeable doctors I have ever been to. I feel blessed to have him as my doctor.

Dr. Chavez himself is amazing. I'm not reviewing him or his bedside manner, but the competence of his staff. No matter how many times I fix it with them my insurance info is always wrong. I'm always billed for visits that are completely covered by insurance so I always have to call both the office and the insurance company to straighten it out. No matter how early or late I make the appointment, I have never been seen within an hour of my appointed time. I've also seen (and seen Dr. Chavez reprimand) a staff member leave open charts of other patients in my exam room, which is a HIPAA violation. The only one who seems to know how to do their job in Dr. Chavez's office is Dr. Chavez. I left to deal with schedulers and billers who know how to do their jobs. Sad really. I like him a lot.
