Prior to being diagnosed, Dr. Janicik would constantly insinuate that what I had believed to be true was all a form of anxiety. It turned out my anxiety is what pushed me to get the proper treatment and probably why I’m still alive. I remember this moment like it was yesterday, frightened, scared, lost, day after day I had so many questions. Dr. Janicik became annoyed with my questions and phone calls and even snapped at me yelling “it could be an infection, rhemeutoid or yes it could even be C”!!!! I now realize the reason she continued to give me appointment after appointment was to bill my insurance. Even after a suspicious Mamm, she referred me to NYU who offered to give me an appointment over a month out. It was my own gut feeling that lead me to locate a competent practice right away who took me in immediately, set me up with the proper team in order to begin treatment. I would never join her private practice especially after my experience. Almost a year later I called her for the number to a referral she had given me previously. I needed to talk to someone about all that I had gone through. She instructed her staff to inform me that since she was no longer my primary physician, she could not provide me with a phone number. I never signed a release, she, took it upon themselves to covert to a private one. As far as I knew, she still had an obligation to her current patients who have not yet found a PC. Now that I think about it I am better off.
