Dr. Distler is an excellent, empathetic doctor. I've been going to him for over 20 years. He's often busy but is most definitely worth the wait. I've always found his staff helpful and courteous.

I Read some of the other reviews and I apologize that so many of you have had negative experiences with this office. I really can't complain about my experience. Yes, I waited a while for my appointment after the time it was scheduled. However, unlike so many other offices in the city, Dr. Distler's office actually apologized to me for it. Yes, the office was a little crowded. I imagine many physicians are still dealing with a backlog of people due to the Corona virus situation. What's more important for me is that once I entered his office, Dr. Distler listened to me. I can't tell you how many medical professionals do not listen. He took notes and yes I was out of his office in less than 10 minutes. His bedside manner was awesome and the women in the front called me "Lovely" and "Beautiful ". Yes, they were swamped but they were still kind to me and that was important. Almost no one gets my name right on the first few tries, however I noticed that the people in his office instead of trying to pronounce my first name incorrectly over and over again, did me the respect of calling me by my last name. This I truly appreciated!

I went to the office today and was completely upset when I left. The medicine the doctor prescribed to me, gave me a horrible skin rash after two days of taking it. The doctor completely dismissed my claim and said the rash came from cold weather. I have never suffered from a rash from cold weather. I saw the rash appear on my skin after taking the medicine lansoprazole. To add insult to injury he gave me a new prescription for another medicine that I explained to him when we first met gave me side effects, which was about two weeks ago. I told him this again and he told me to take it anyway. Don't get me wrong the doctor is nice but i can't accept this.

During coronavirus you must avoid Westside GI where colonoscopies etc. are done. I was there in 2018 and it was just fine. So was Dr. Distler. But yesterday picked up patient and was told by Janelle at front desk I had to wait in the hall. (Even though I've had 3 vaccines.) Waited standing up in hall less than a minute before Haq the hall monitor kicked me out of hall told me to wait downstairs. Stood up downstairs less than a minutes before lobby guard Jim kicked me out told me to wait outside. Stood outside on pavement for an hour then went upstairs to inquire about patient, only to hear Janelle tell me I should leave, he'd been discharged. I told her that's impossible I've been outside watching the front door and insisted they look for him. Patient was found but there should be a text to cell phone system where people required to pick up patients are notified they are ready or running late. Old people should not be made to stand outside on pavement in December. Guy at front desk told me there are 4 medical facilities in the building: But this is the only one that has such a policy. Until they change their pick-up policy, avoid.

I’m not a big fan. Having been referred to him by my primary I’ve been with him for both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy in the last two months. To date, I’ve had less than 5mins with him to stop explain anything to me. The location where he sends his patients is a circus with 3-4hr waits. Feels like a medical chop shop to me.
