Dr. Michael Hausman is an extraordinary physician and surgeon. His bedside manner excellent. He is concise and through with his examinations and suggestions. He does provide answers to your questions. He is bilingual which is a plus, especially when elderly patients need reinforcement of a care plan to recuperate from surgery and long term treatment. I highly recommend him.

Excellent surgeon. I ruptured the ligament in my thumb. Dr. Hausman explained the difference treatment approaches I could choose. Dr. Hausman and his staff were very friendly, helpful and supportive with my choice. He explained everything well and made me feel at ease about the need for surgery. I have recovered well with optimal use of my hand. I highly recommend him. He was personable, listened and answered to my questions and even those of my family members. Wears great bow ties and dapper socks.

I had and continue to have superb medical care with Dr. Hausman, his various medical teams, and the wonderful staff of Mt. Sinai Hospital. They are a godsend! My 45-year old orthopedic injury of my left elbow is now finally resolved. Seven previous surgeries at other hospitals failed. I truly feel blessed that Dr. Hausman found a solution for my orthopedic problem, and he and his orthopedic, anesthesia, internal medicine, intensive care, and physical therapy teams along with the nursing staff of Mt. Sinai worked so expertly together for my successful recovery. I am deeply grateful. Thank you so much!!

After a wrist injury I sustained from a fall, and while 2 interns looked on (presumably to 'learn' from this doctor), this doctor asked no questions about my injury nor checked my hand/wrist. He simply walked me to a nearby room, took quick Xray, looked at image on computer screen, said 'nothing is broken...you'll be fine..no need to wear your wrist brace anymore' and with that he made it clear our 'appointment' was over. I can see being charged for an x-ray, of course, but a new patient 'office visit' to the tune of $660?? Wow. IMHO, there was no office visit....just an x-ray. And what kind of an example of care was that, for the interns?

I absolutely will not be returning to Dr. Hausman and would not recommend him to anyone. I came in with a boxing injury to my dominant hand and was seeking guidance on how to heal my hand and then continue boxing. He felt my hand for about two seconds and then told me that the obvious solution would be to quit boxing. You don’t need a medical degree for that advice! Quitting isn’t an option, which is why I came to him- I was hoping for some professional guidance. He was rude, impatient to get my X-rays uploaded to his computer, and told me he would only give me an MRI when I exhibited “good behavior” and stopped boxing to let my hand heal. He said the brace that I was wearing from City MD (where I had my X-rays taken) was “superfluous” yet it actually helped after I continued wearing it the following few days. Very disappointing. Can’t wait to receive his bill for which he did absolutely nothing!
