Dr. Zacchilli is a great doctor and is very informative. He shows passion and care for his patients and listens to them and gives the best solution. I would recommend him to other people who need a orthopedic doctor.

THE BEST In 2018 while playing basketball I suffered an ACL rupture and medial meniscus tear in my right knee. The trauma was not diagnosed until 7 months later when running and jumping became too wobbly and painful. The diagnosis was shocking, I was morbidly afraid of surgery and adamant about finding the right doctor to trust with my body. I received lots of recommendations and advice, and ultimately found Dr. Michael Zacchilli, whose attitude, superb surgical experience, professionalism, and excellent reputation made me feel safe and ready for my ACL reconstruction and medial meniscus repair. I am 26 years old, on my 5th month of rehabilitation- running, jumping, rediscovering activities I thought I'd lost forever. Dr. Zacchilli brought me back to active life! I first met Dr. Zacchilli in May 2020 during Covid-19. Though we wore masks and could not see each other’s faces, his professional attitude spoke volumes and we established a trustful relationship. Dr. Zacchilli was very meticulous in examining and diagnosing me. During every visit he gave me 100% of his attention, thorough information and evaluation of my medical state, answered all my questions, listened carefully, and made me feel understood. He and his office were in constant communication since the moment I became their patient. There was not a time I felt neglected; they returned all my calls and answered all my questions. For the first time in many months I felt that my injury was under control. During Covid-19 when elective surgery was suspended they could book you only 8 weeks ahead, so I expected my surgery to take place July 2020. Then in the middle of May I called his office on a day off and complained about my knee locking for several days in a row. I did not expect anything but advice on how to relieve this symptom (it happened to me all the time before I became Dr. Zacchilli’s patient), but Dr. Zacchilli changed the status of my injury to urgent (rather than elective) and was able to push me up the queue and schedule me for the beginning of June. I remember trembling on the day of the surgery, everything was happening very fast. The nurses and the anesthesiologist were very friendly and comforting but I felt nervous at the preparation stages as I did not recognize any familiar faces. Dr. Zacchilli and his assistant Theo Lebos came into the room and walked me through everything for the hundredth time, and I felt calm and was not afraid anymore. The next thing I know I woke up with my ligament and meniscus repaired. My partner said that Dr. Zacchilli came out to him several times into the waiting room and updated him and my family on my state. I do not understand the medical details and unimaginable amount of skill a person should have to perform this surgery, but I can say that I am complete again and reaching back to 100%. I did not realize what a giant piece of my life was missing until I got it back. Active movement was a great part of my identity that the injury took away from me. Being disabled at the age of 24 changed me, made me feel depressed. He gave me a second shot and I am forever grateful I found him. Rehab is a long process but I feel like myself again and ready to move mountains! Thank you for taking my case.

Absolutely without question the most amazing physician I have ever met. I am a former mixed-martial art competitor and currently operate my own martial arts academy. My injuries, accumulated over years, finally caught up with me and began to seriously impact my ability to teach as well as to stay active. I have been treated multiple times by Dr. Zachilli and each instance of care brings me closer to 100%. My most recent surgery was an amazing success and gave me back full range of knee flexion, an outcome which in all honesty I never thought possible. Most amazingly, due to Dr. Zachilli’s cutting edge approach, my recovery time was not even half that of my previous knee surgery from another (also excellent) physician. Dr. Zachilli is a unique individual: a brilliant and highly skilled Harvard educated surgeon who honed his abilities on the battlefield serving our troops in Afghanistan. I found his background in wrestling also informs his approach to treating athletes in a way that allows a deeper understanding of the patient’s needs... and unlike many surgeons he is a humble individual with a very kind and reassuring bedside manner. However, what truly sets him apart is that he is first and foremost a man of scientific rigor. As an athlete and coach of professional fighters, I follow many of the cutting-edge breakthroughs in sports medicine. Without a doubt I can say that I have never met a physician so thoroughly conversant in the latest techniques and data, and who has such a rigorously scientific approach to medicine. Under Dr. Zachilli one is assured to get the most modern and innovative approach to orthopedic care. I could go on. But let me conclude that I am truly, truly grateful to have been under Dr. Zachilli’s practiced hand. He has given me my body back.
