Dr. John Bendo

Dr. Bendo is an orthopedic god of healing! He performed 3 discectomies on my lower spine over a 15 year period, and I practically was able to jump off the surgical gurney and go out to dinner afterwards (actually, I DID go out for meals after #s 2 & 3. HEALED! No hardware. No one better!

From my first phone call to Dr. Bendo's office, I was treated with the utmost attention, care and expedient service. Dr. Bendo elicited great trust in me by his attentive and expert explanation of my condition and his proposal for my surgery. The operation, a laminectomy and spinal fusion for spondylolisthesis and decompression due to degenerative arthritis, was completed about one month ago. I have recovered amazingly quickly and well, and I attribute this almost entirely to Dr. Bendo's expertise in both diagnosis and surgical skill. In addition, the entire office staff is extremely caring, warm, and efficient, and their administrative pre-surgical work and follow-up care are attended to with excellence and wonderful attention to the individual patient. I would recommend Dr. Bendo and his staff with accolades.

I was recommended to see Dr. Bendo for my spinal stenosis, synovial cysts and scoliosis. I was told it is possible to remove the cysts which would alleviate my pinched nerve that causes my sciatica. He examined me and read my reports and determined that I am not a candidate for surgery due to the curvature in my spine. I am grateful that he was honest enough not to suggest surgery in my case. Instead he gave me a prescription for PT and I'm doing better with that.

Dr. Bendo is a brilliant, compassionate doctor. He reviewed my Cat scan, explained everything and answered all my questions. He made me feel comfortable and I am confident because of his conviction, that there is nothing for me to worry about. (I saw him at his East 38th Street location) Dr. Bendo is truly patient, kind and knowledgeable and I am forever grateful!

He is a miracle! He is very confident, pozitive, and extremely talented! I got my surgery on Thusday morning and a few hours after I started walking again and I was pain free after almost 2 years. I am glad that I decided to go for a surgery with him. He changed my life! I am normal again!
