Dr. Goldstein operated on my lumbar spine in 2003. He is an excellent surgeon. I now live in Las Vegas . I needed further surgical intervention. I had the surgery performed here in Las Vegas by a local orthopedic spine surgeon. It is almost 2 years out from my surgery and I decided to contact Dr. Goldstein to review my case. Since the surgery was performed, my left lower back down through the groin and just below the left knee is numb. I am experiencing neuropathic pain and cannot sit for long and can no longer drive comfortably. I now have to walk with the assistance of a cane. I saw a pain management specialist. He could not help me and referred me back to the original surgeon. I decided to contact Dr. Goldstein instead because I have a lot of faith in him. I was once told in the NYU-HJD that he was one of the best surgeons in New York City. I emailed the office and was contacted the next day and was asked to send the CD's of the imaging and reports. In less than a week, I had an televideo appointment with Dr. Goldstein. He reviewed the CAT scan that was ordered by the surgeon here in LV and saw the issue immediately. I have scheduled a date for surgery at NYU-HJD for the end of September.

I've had two surgeries with Dr. Goldstein, one 18 years ago (neck) and an L4-L5 fusion one year ago. Both surgeries resolved my very severe pain, weakness and numbness issues 100%. I traveled from Florida for my second surgery because Dr. Goldstein is the only person I trust to handle these life-changing spinal procedures. Words are not enough--thanks Doc!

Outstanding from start to finish. I came to Dr. Goldstein after months of pain. The experience at his office was brilliant. No wait time and it ran like clockwork. Dr. Goldstein provided me my options and explained the risks and the benefits. I elected surgery. Today I had my surgery. The process at the hospital also ran like clockwork. The facilities were state of the art. The staff were friendly and professional. Dr. Goldstein personally came to see me after surgery to tell me how things went and also phoned my fiancée personally. He has done all the hard work for me. Now it’s over to me to heal.

After months and months and months of suffering the pain was so bad I literally would cry myself to sleep at night hoping for even an hour of relief. 3-4-5 Advil, physical therapy, a painful epidural shot and acupuncture nothing helped. The pain was just awful. I was unable to function. My daughter did some research and found Dr. Goldstein. Dr. Goldstein did not beat around the bush, if you want relief there is only one option back decompression surgery. The pain was so bad at this point I would have agreed to anything. My surgery was scheduled at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital two weeks later. The surgery was a success. The hospital staff was kind and the nurses were amazing. I was on pain medication around the clock but I already knew this pain was different from my pre-surgery agony. This pain was more of a tired numbness. I was released from the hospital about 4 days later. My first week home was hard. I felt stiff and tired. I would say it took about three weeks before I started feeling myself again. I believe with all my heart that I shouldn’t have waited so long to have the surgery. I should never have let the pain get so bad. This surgery bought me back to life. Thank you Dr. Goldstein!

After having chronic leg pain due to nerve infringement in my lumbar region I decided to have a laminectomy done by Dr Goldstein in December 2019. He told me this was not a major surgery and I would most likely be fine in 3 months. A few days after the surgery I developed a nasty colitis that was diagnosed after 12 hours at the ER. Over the next several months I had over 40 physical therapy sessions but my leg pain is still present. Then in the beginning of August both of my feet became partially numb which was very upsetting. I decided to have a new MRI which indicated a greater degree of disc protrusion and stenosis at L4-L5 and L5-S1. I was told by another spine surgeon that the three level laminectomy from Dr Goldstein was too aggressive a surgery for my problem and I should have had a more minimal procedure based on an earlier MRI I had in August 2019. I am currently going to a chiropractor and getting some relief from a DXR 9000 spinal decompression machine. I wish I had gotten a second opinion before having had my surgery. I recommend a second opinion to anybody that sees Dr Goldstein.
