One of the most positive medical experiences I've had in NYC. Dr. Maung spent a significant amount of time with me and I did not feel rushed at all. She even took my blood pressure a second time because she realized from the numbers that I must have been nervous the first time. She asked relevant, probative questions about my medical history and has a funny but kind way about her. She is direct, but I appreciate that. There was no language barrier. Highly recommend!

Dr. Maung is a no-nonsense doctor. She was very straightforward with me and didn't jump to write me a script because my bp was elevated one day. She told me to monitor and come back if this it persisted. She was right. It was back to normal the next day. My physical with her took all of 30 minutes so I was able to get to work quickly. She also answers questions online through the WC center in a timely manner which is important to me. This is what I look for in a doctor but may not be for everyone.

I've read these not so great reviews of Dr. Maung, and I need to weigh in. Dr. Maung has been my primary care physician for several years now, and I like her. No, she is not going to be like Jane Seymour in that show "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman" -- warm and fuzzy and holding folks' hands. That's not who she is. What she is: Smart, Capable and she tells you exactly what you need to know and do in order to be healthy. And, she's friendly enough. That's all I've ever needed, and what most people need: the facts. If you're looking for something more like a Dr. Quinn bedside manner, then you probably need to choose a different physician. But, if you only need great care, than Dr. Maung is the right choice.

I have never felt like I needed to leave a review about a doctor until today. This is the most unprofessional, rude, condescending doctor who lacks listening skills and remorse. She doesn’t want to see patients and thinks everything is COVID and doesn’t want to do any physical exam since she writes everyone off as a COVID case before you even have a chance to say what’s wrong. This is the second time I saw her. The first time she was rude but I took it as she was having a bad day. During that visit, I asked her, if there is any problem with taking the flu shot and the booster and she snapped at me saying “how is she supposed to know”. I wrote that off as a bad day and said, no worries, I won’t go back to her since she isn’t my regular doctor and this is a medical center with other doctors. This time, I went in for a sinus infection and forgot that I made a note to not see her since I was desperate to be seen the same day. The minute she walked in the room, I knew it was going to be bad. She didn’t want to see me, barely wanted to come near me. Asked her about ways to relieve the pressure in my ear and she laughed me off and said she’s not an ear doctor. Told her the allergy medicine I was taking and she got annoyed because I didn’t know the generic name. I asked her about medicine for the infection (prescription or over the counter) and she turns back and ask me, “do you want medicine”. If I could treat myself or know what I should be taking, why would I make an appointment with a doctor? All she cared about was taking a COVID test and telling me I shouldn’t have come in because it could be COVID. I went to checkout and asked to have a note be added to my chart stating not to book future appointments with her and the receptionist didn’t seem surprised by this request. It doesn’t matter if she MIGHT be a good doctor (I personally cannot make that assessment because she seemed horrible to me), bedside manners matter and she lacks it! She shouldn’t be allowed to be on that roster of doctors at this location. She clearly would be happier being strictly a virtual doctor. This experience is making me second guess if I even want to go back to this center.

I'm surprised Dr. Maung hasn't already been sued for malpractice. She has no consideration for her patients and doesn't even take the time to listen to you while you talk. She cuts you off mid-sentence. How can a doctor diagnose a patient if they won't let them actually tell the doctor what is going on? She was walking out of the door before I had finished telling her the reasons why I was there and the referral I needed for a specialist. She was about 2 hours late to my original appointment time, so I waited for 2 hours in the waiting room. Then she was in the room with me for 3 minutes before I literally had to stop her at the door and say, "Hold on! Please wait I'm not done!" as she was walking out. I had some very serious medical conditions going on as well that no doctor should take lightly. She was immensely rude. I literally had to raise my speaking voice to almost a shouting level to talk over her so that she would let me speak. She is BEYOND rude, she cannot speak english or communicate very well, and she clearly has no interest in taking care of her patients. She refused to write me a prescription for a medicine I've been taking for 10 years every day. No reason why. She wanted me to go to a specialist first before writing the prescription, and then refused to give me a referral for the specialist. The woman is truly awful and should not be a doctor. Avoid her at all costs, unless you want too waste a day of your life going to her office. The nurse and staff were nice.. she is just wretched.
