I came here to write a review about my family’s great interaction with Dr. Namdar, but right now I’m getting a chuckle reading the previous review and Dr. Namdar’s response to it. It is so typical Dr. Namdar to be so kind hearted.
First, the review. My family’s involvement with Dr. Namdar started 15 years ago. At that time my mother was experiencing severe bouts of vertigo. We had been to several emergency room visits, as well as a couple of other ENT specialists, and although she was diagnosed with positional vertigo, they were not able to help her much. At the time, I was working at the office of one of the cardiologists in the same medical center. We googled positional vertigo, and found out that Dr. Namdar happens to be an expert in its treatment. During that first visit, I had to accompany my mother since she does not speak English. Even though at times I was not the best translator, Dr. Namdar made sure that I faithfully translate everything my mother says, and everything that Dr. Namdar had to say back to her even though this made the visit so much longer. He was so compassionate with her, as though he was treating his own mother. Sure enough with that one maneuver he did in the office, she was completely better. However, positional vertigo is a recurrent problem, and every couple of years my mother is affected again. We have been back to see him probably 7–8 times, and every time we have been greeted with incredible bedside manner while he quietly performs the maneuver to relieve the vertigo. The second chapter involved myself. About seven years ago I came down with a thyroid nodule, and the biopsy was suspicious. My endocrinologist wanted me to have surgery, and just by chance he recommended Dr. Namdar as his trusted surgeon. I already knew him so well, and it was only natural that I trusted him. Needless to say, all went well with the surgery, and luckily I didn’t need any more treatments. The third chapter involves my son. He had been having issues with snoring and sleep apnea. His pediatrician had tried a couple of different ways to help alleviate this, but we were not successful. Due to my frustration, they recommended we think about tonsillectomy surgery. In the world of adult Cardiology which I am familiar with, it is a whole different group of people who deal with adults versus children. But when they pediatrician recommended Dr. Namdar for the surgery I knew it was kismet since ENT doctors deal with children as well as adults, and we already love Dr. Namdar. Even though I was already determined to have the surgery even before that first visit with my son, Dr. Namdar clarified the options with me and calmed me down. Apparently, we had not really exhausted all medical options, and it was only in the best interest of my son to do so before resorting to surgery. Unlucky for him, he did not respond to those medical therapies either, and he finally had to have the surgery with Dr. Namdar last week. Once again everything went perfect, and my son was in minimal amount of pain afterwards although I heard horror stories from other parents with other surgeons. So three generations of us with Dr. Namdar and we trust him with any other upcoming ENT problems any of us might have. While on first impression it might seem that it is just coincidence that we ended up with Dr. Namdar all 3 times, he is actually one of the more sought-after ENT’s in our center. He’s the go-to ENT for practically every employee of the hospital and their family members. He’s humble, genuine, and makes you feel well taken care of.
It is soooo like Dr. Namdar not to realize that "Jane D" is not a real name, but someone who is trying to hide behind pseudonym Jane Doe. It's typical of him trying to reach out to her and see how to fix the problem, while the patient just wanted to lash out without leaving a trace. But that's why we love him so much, for his kind heartedness and his compassion.
