Dr. Gary Chen

I have seen Dr. Chen for 14 years since 2007. Seven years ago, I moved far away but I still travel to see Dr. Chen over the past 7 years even though there are many Chinese-speaking doctors in my new neighborhood. Now I am 86 years old and everyone around me is surprised by how I am so healthy and in such a great shape. I thank Dr. Chen for his amazing care for all these years. He is an excellent doctor. Thank you Dr. Chen!

10 years ago I had severe cardiovascular problems and I saw a few famous Chinese cardiologists in NYC, but they couldn’t solve my problems. After I saw Dr. Chen, he is able to solve my problem. Even though the medications he prescribed are cheap, they have been working the best for me. For 10 years I have been in my best optimal condition under Dr. Chen’s regimen. The same severe problems have never come back again.

I have seen Dr. Chen for 18 years since 2003 and visited him numerous times. I am White while Dr. Chen is an Asian American. I live in the far South end of Staten Island a few minutes away from the bridge to New Jersey where there are many doctors in my neighborhood but I still travel all the way to Brooklyn to see Dr. Chen because I found him to be a kind person and an experienced doctor that can solve my medical problems. He is a great doctor who really cares about my health.

My two brothers, two sisters, my mother, and I are all Dr. Chen’s patients. My 88-year-old mother has very severe heart problems and had been seeing the doctor in the hospital, but was still in very severe condition. When Dr. Chen knew my mother’s situation, he voluntarily offered to help her a few times. Finally my mom agreed. Dr. Chen is able to improve her condition a lot, giving her a few more years of optimal quality of life. Because of COVID-19, my mother has not seen Dr. Chen for some time. A few weeks ago, on a weekend, my mother felt very weak and wanted to see Dr. Chen. She mentioned more than once that she missed Dr. Chen and wanted us to write a letter to Dr. Chen’s superior to express her greatest appreciation. I regret I didn’t call Dr. Chen because it was the weekend, I didn’t want to bother him. We called the ambulance, and she was admitted to the ICU. The doctor said her condition was very critical, and could pass away at any minute. After that, she passed away. We write this letter to fulfill her final will.
