The best bedside manner , attentive , caring , Doctor I have ever seen . I’m so happy to have found Dr. Lachmann... I only wish I had found her years ago . She genuinely does care about the individual person and patient . The receptionist is just as personal . Amazing office staff . Anyone who needs a PM&R Doctor should definitely see her .

I was sent to see Dr. Lachmann by my oncologist and I have been under her care since early this year for a labral tear, knee contusion and some bursitis. She sent me for imaging via MRI and physical therapy which has helped a lot with my hip pain and even though it acts up every now and then she helps me with pain management and continually tries to find ways to address my situation without throwing me into surgery. She's taken good care of me and I am very grateful for her expertise.

Avoid this doctor., or at least take everything she tells you with a grain of salt. I went to her several years ago while suffering from extreme lower back pain and sciatica which seemed to have sprung from nowhere. I had always been very physically active and was an avid tennis player. She suspected that I had a herniated disc and sent me for an MRI, which showed a "bulging" disc. (What I later found out is that disc deterioration is part of the natural aging process, and that most people middle aged and older, whether or not they had back pain, would have something show up on a scan.) The first thing she said to me was that I had suffered a permanent injury, that I would never be able to lead the physically active life I had led previously, and that the best I would be able to do going forward would be to manage my chronic pain. She prescribed a round of steroids, and sent me for physical therapy. Neither had any effect. She sent me back for more PT, and told me I might want to consider surgery, which I was reluctant to do. The pain continued unabated. I subsequently tried chiropractic and accupuncture, although I can't remember if that was on her recommendation or not. Also no effect. The pain, which was debilitating, went on for about six months. And then I heard about a book by Dr. John Sarno called "Healing Back Pain - The Mind-Body Connection". It talks about how pain syndromes are commonly linked to stress. It talks about how chronic pain can be a result of a feedback loop in the nervous system whereby the sensation of pain continues to register in your brain even when the source of the pain is no longer there (similar to how amputees continue to feel their missing limb), and it gives you a method for overcoming the feedback loop. It also talks about what a racket the "Pain Management Industry" is, and how many people end up in some kind of perpetual treatment program, or have ill-advised surgery, neither of which cures their problem. The book made a lot of sense to me, and seemed to apply to my situation. I had recently gone through a difficult divorce, and was not coping well. Within a couple of weeks after reading the book and applying the method, the pain started to subside and within a month was gone completely. I was immediately able to start playing tennis again, and resume my normal life. Since that time, I've had a couple of briefer episodes with my back. They both coincided with stressful situations I was dealing with, and ended after the situations were resolved. Other than that, I have no back issues. I moved to the country a couple of years ago, and now do even more strenuous physical activities and heavy lifting than I used to, including cutting and splitting (by hand) multiple cords of firewood per year - a far cry from Dr. Lachmann's prognosis. Draw your own conclusion. Oh, and on top of everything else, her office was incredibly chaotic and disorganized. Unless things have changed, don't expect to see the doctor anywhere close to your appointment time.
