I had a great experience with Dr. Shapiro and recommend him to everybody I know. We discussed my symptoms, he gave me allergy tests, and a breathing test. He was very thorough with his testing.Dr.Shapiro is a skilled doctor. The rest of the staff were very nice and helpful as well. The office is beautiful, and the waiting area is comfortable. I highly recommend

Dr. Charles Shapiro always does his job well. I wish there were more doctors like him around. He listens to his patients very carefully and has answers for almost all the questions. My son finally got the right treatment for his severe allergies and has shown great improvement! Great Job!!!

Doctor Shapiro talked a lot about what he could do. He said he would definitely be able to fix my allergy issues. I went there to get tested for allergens about 6 to 8 times total (that includes initial exam visit and last visit after testing was done). I asked the assistant who did the testing if we could use both arms to apply the allergens instead of one so I didn't have to make so many visits. She said no. I said why not? She said because that's how we do it. Ok then so what that boils down to is they do it that way because it makes the patient have to come twice as many times which means twice the amount of money made for the doctor. In the end no allergens were found.
In the last visit I said, what's next then doctor? Again to be clear he had said ADAMANTLY that he would fix the problem, that if no allergy was detected that there were other things we could do. He had a habit of talking himself up, telling stories about his education, his expertise, how he stands out from other allergists. I didn't expect a miracle. Much of his rhetoric is unrelated to the medical issue at hand.
Having exhausted all the allergy testing he said I should get a scan of my sinuses. I said ok. he said he would call with a prescription for the head/sinus scan. He was vague on what we might find but I assumed it was to look for abnormalities in my sinuses. I was skeptical but I said ok, anything is possible and no allergens had been found.
A few days went by and no phone call came as promised with the prescription for the sinus scan. I called the office, spoke to the assistant who answered, explained what the doctor had said about calling with a prescription for a scan and she said she would definitely talk to him and they would definitely call me back. Weeks went by still no call. Now it's been months. So after all his the talk about how good he is and how he would definitely fix the problem and all the bluster and B.S. he basically abandoned the patient. I get you didn't find any allergen but at the very least you should acknowledge it and say I can't help you anymore instead of saying you're going to call with a script (twice) and then never calling again. Instead of all the talk of how you're going to fix it and after all the visits that could have been cut in half but, you know, money. I should have trusted my gut after the first couple of conversations with the doctor; the off-topic, overblown promises, convoluted, confusing, hyperbolic, B.S. communication. You have been warned.
