Dr. Oneto literally saved my life when I was suffering from a serious GI infection that would just not let go of me. A master of her craft, she is a pioneer in her field, has learned from some of the top GI experts in the world, and now stands out as a leader in her areas of expertise herself. I say all this because I researched her extensively before going to see her. On top of all of her qualifications, Dr. Oneto is a fun, interesting person. You could not do better than Dr. Oneto, including her back office support through her assistant, Yolanda. They are the best of the best.

I was a patient of Dr. Oneto couple years ago. I will firstly say that Dr. Oneto is a very nice, knowledgeable, and professional doctor. I went to her for bloating issue, and she had me take a hydrogen breath test. I then tested positive for SIBO and started treatment. The reason I only give 3 stars is because making appointments with Dr. Oneto was very difficult. She was often away on a conference, or would cancel appointments because she was last moment going to a conference. To make matters worse, her secretary is incredibly rude. I have never dealt with more rude, secretary. She doesn't let you talk, she twists her words, has a condescending tone, and - will not return calls. I have decided to finally write a review because I have since switched doctors, and needed my medical records sent over. It has been over a month since I faxed my medical release form. When I tried to call Dr. Oneto, I had to call repeatedly for a week, including leaving voicemails, with no call back. Finally I spoke to Yolanda, and she was just as rude as she was couple years ago. She told she never received my fax of my medical release form, though later that day, she apparently faxed my medical records. My new doctor still has not received them. It is really sad because Dr. Oneto is a nice doctor, but her secretary is TERRIBLE.

I was a patient of Dr. Oneto’s for approximately 5 months. During that time, I was never able to get a hold of her. I believe that’s her style. Filtering all messages through her admin Yolanda. Well, when you pay to go to a doctor, you’d like follow-up from that doctor. I was thereafter diagnosed with a parasite by my nutritionist. As was the case on three separate occasions, Dr. Oneto couldn’t see me because she was at a conference. While I am all for a doctor learning her craft, in my case, Dr. Oneto let me down by being completely unavailable to me, her patient. I saw the covering doctor (Dr. Alex Sherman) who gave me medication for the parasite. I did some research on the internet to find that the medicine attacks the bugs but not their eggs. TMI, I know. I called Dr. Sherman who called me back and told me he was not comfortable prescribing more medication as I was not his patient and the medicine could have side effects. He called! Wow. I called Dr. Oneto and was told I needed another apt for the same concern. At this point, after months of unavailability, waiting 45 minutes in her examining room and NEVER hearing from her for follow-up, I expressed extreme frustration to her admin Yolanda. She suggested that I find a new doctor if I was so upset. So I took that advice. The day after, I got my FIRST call from the doctor who was commenting about the certification of the lab where I got my results. She had the test results for 2 weeks and after what I imagine was Yolanda expressing my frustration, she called. A doctor like this needs a class in communication. If your patient doesn’t trust you, your medical degree and thousands of conferences, are worthless.
