I have no idea why these reviews are poor for this office. The doctors are kind, respectful professional and efficient. The support staff is also very polite and warm. The office is clean. The wait times are reasonable and the waiting area is never packed. In NYC, that alone is very hard to find these days. Most offices are overflowing due to over-booked appointments. Social distancing and covid rules are in full effect at the office. Everyone, from the patients to the staff, make the energy in the office feel like family.

Aside from one of the reviews and comments from a woman who was never a patient or ever step foot in the office, the staff does a great job under the pressure they are under from so many patients that he sees. I personally have been there many times and as much as Under Pressure they are they always greet me and always courteous to me. I was recommended to this doctor and I come from Staten Island to go see him. I would give him and his staff 5 stars.

The clerical staff is rude here. It’s a shame because I really was trying to settle on this doctor as my permanent primary care. However, the staff seem bothered when you call. I always feel rushed and it just seems overall chaotic. Not a good feel.

The staff here is absolutely rude! My husband nor I have ever been to this doctor because he is based in Brooklyn, NY and we do not even live in that borough. They called my home today to verify an appointment that was made at that office for my husband and when I kept insisting that there was some mistake, the woman on the phone became indignant and rude. Their office manager was nastily saying things in the background that my husband called their office 2 days ago to book that appointment and he spoke directly to her, it was no mistake because how did they get his name and phone number. This is the rudest most unorganized place. I would not send a dying pet to this place let alone myself or husband! A doctors reputation is based on their knowledge, compassion, bedside manner and their staff! Dr. Bertelle needs to get it together and reevaluate his staff because if he doesn't, I don't see him having very many lasting patients. Based on all the reviews I have read on this doctor, all of the complaints are geared towards his staff. There are some praising his staff however, those were probably written by his staff because based on my experience today it was the complete opposite.

The doctor is nice and friendly. The wait time is ridicules. You can spend two hours waiting untill they call your name. Even if your appointment time passed already. Then when you try to complain to staff, they send you off, like by giving you an appointment they do some kind of favor for you. I never been at the doctor's office when you need to spend 2-3 hours in the waiting area. It's so ridiculous. Never coming back.
