I feel very blessed to have had Dr Shay as my surgeon. I met him after a lot of traumatic past medical encounters, so i was very nervous about surgery... He was patient in answering my pre-op questions and reassured me that my fears were normal. On the day of my surgery he built rapport through his pleasant demeanor and humor as he sought to calm my anxieties. He assured me that i would be well taken care of in a way that came across as compassionate and intone to my individual needs as a patient. I didn't expect the sincerity i got from our exchange but it made an exceptional difference in my quality of care. He reminded me of his skill, my strength and the strength of the team surrounding me in the operating room. This really helped me build the trust needed to calm my nerves then. I felt seen, heard and respected during a time of vulnerability and that will remain priceless to me. His cheerful attitude and candor remained in our post-op visit and it helped me feel less alone as a person having major surgery far from home. I also noticed he asked my consent to show images of my surgery to a nurse in the room with us and that small act of including me in choices concerning my body really stood out. I am grateful for his hard work and commitment to quality medical care.

Hysterscopic myomectomy - so easy to diagnose and schedule and procedure took only about 30 minutes and then an hour to check in an hour to rest all in a hospital. He was able to take out what two other surgeons weren’t able to making this my third surgery in six months and hopefully I’m in the clear for a very long time. I didn’t even take any pain medicine afterwards and went back to work from home within 24 hours. Surgery is the solution for fibroids just do it already there’s no need to suffer. Dr. Shay is particularly skilled as a surgeon and gynocologist it takes confidence and methodology to full remove polyps and fibroids, he had the practical approach of hysterscopic photographs before and after to try to actual see what was there and that it is fully removed. Remember fibroids aren't who you are they just exist until they are removed and do not exist and then if they grow back and you have symptoms you remove again and continue your life.

Dr. Shay did my surgery and was great to work with. He answers any questions you may have, tries to calm any nerves you may have, and even let me pick what music I wanted to listen to during surgery! Glad I found him for sure, and would highly recommend.
