I am extremely glad I ended up choosing Dr. Mangubat as my surgeon for top surgery, with free nipple grafts and a lateral roll excision. I had a lot of concerns, one being finding a doctor competent enough to take on a high BMI patient (43 BMI). I couldn’t have been happier with my results. Dr. Mangubat took into account my need for a masculine chest that was proportional to my body. I was given clear instructions for how to care for my incisions and grafts, and healing has gone very well. I felt informed about the process, and given clear expectations for the result. Dr. Mangubat uses Penrose drains which are fantastic compared to other options. The desk staff, nurses, and anesthesiologist were great as well. Many of the nurses made me feel like my own mom was caring for me. The insurance coordinator was also very communicative and helpful. I recommend recovering at the adjacent Doubletree Hilton if you’re not from the area. They have a good deal with the clinic for free breakfast and parking, and you will be taken directly to your room in a wheelchair after surgery if requested. Overall, I would highly recommend this clinic. Top surgery was daunting, but I came through the other side very pleased. I enjoyed seeing their saltwater fish everytime I came in.

I have wanted double incision top surgery for a long time, but I have asthma and GERD, so I was really nervous about having to bind for a long time post surgery. It was hard for me to bind for a whole day, I truly didn't think I would be able to make it through having to bind a whole month like I've read some people have had to do post top surgery. I brought these concerns to Dr. Mangubat and the team at La Belle Vie, and they made me feel heard and understood. Dr. Mangubat was very thorough about what to expect from the surgery and the timeline for healing after. I also had a pre op visit before the procedure, and I'm so grateful I had it because I was able to go over with his medical assistants what the post op binder looked like, how tight it had to be, and how long I had to wear it (only a week! I was so estatic, I honestly don't think I could have gone longer) In addition to a smooth recovery with limited binding and a very thorough post op medication plan, I also really appreciated Dr. Mangubat's incredible eye for detail. The incisions were thoughtfully planned out with consideration for my individual body shape and the nipple grafts were proportional to the new chest shape as well ( I used to hate the size and shape of my nipples). It's been really awesome to see how good my new chest looks after only 3 weeks, and it was really nice to see Dr. Mangubat for the 3 week post op and have him be excited for me for how well everything is healing too!! Lastly, I wanted to give a special shout out to the medical assistants and the patient care coordinator at La Belle Vie, they helped make all the paperwork needed for requesting time off from work as smooth as possible, and I really really appreciated it!!

I have only the highest praise for Dr. Mangubat and his team here at La Belle Vie. I’m around 100 days post op for ftm double incision top surgery. This team of people have really changed my life completely, I feel like a whole new person. Every single step of the way every person in this team made every effort to make me feel more comfortable and accommodate me as much as possible. They ensured during the first appointment that I had realistic expectations and to explain every tiny detail, even when I had to take my shirt off for the Dr. a nurse came in to see if I wanted someone else in there for my comfort. And when I was able to call back to hopefully get a surgery date and pre-op appointment scheduled, they jumped on the chance to offer me an opening they had even sooner. Before I knew it my surgery was only one month away the day of that call. And when it came to day of surgery, my partner and I just got in horrible traffic, I was ridiculously anxious about being late. And the entire staff and anesthesiologist reassured me so much to just get to the clinic safe and that it was all okay. I wish I remembered her name but she said, “if being late is the worst thing that is going to happen today, it’s going to be an amazing day” 😭 i felt like crying. And every post op appointment since, Dr. Mangubat has been just as excited as I am to see my results. I really cannot express enough gratitude and thankfulness for this amazing team of people. Dr. T says all the time that this is the most rewarding work, and I hope that the entire team knows my life has taken a 180 since surgery. I am the happiest I have been in my whole life and I owe it to all of them for making it happen. Thank you so much😭❤️

Dr M and all the staff there made this already scary experience completely stress free! Almost 1 year ago I had FTM top surgery (keyhole procedure). From the bat I went into this process with many questions and seeking the best results possible. I went to multiple surgeons in the area and Dr M was the most informed, confident, and helpful by far. His staff helped me answer all the questions I had, especially regarding keyhole and the added risks with that surgery. The front desk folks also helped navigate insurance to make sure it was as covered as possible. Now looking back, I’m beyond happy with my results and I couldn’t imagine anything else. I got top surgery with Dr. Mangubat a month ago, and honestly the whole experience went smoother than I could have hoped. The consultation was very informative- I booked my surgery that same day. Every one on the team from the receptionist Chrissy, the nurses Grace and Mari, and Dr. Mangubat himself made me feel very welcome and comfortable to ask any questions or express any concerns I had. My results are amazing so far, very neat work and I experienced no complications in early recovery- it went better than I anticipated overall. Very thankful to the team for making my experience so easy!
