For any medical care that’s covered by insurance, Certainly offers “Certainly Price Protection” to predict and guarantee the out-of-pocket cost of common services across as many providers as possible with your health insurance.

For select cosmetic providers and procedures, Certainly offers “Exclusive Certainly Discounts” to ensure patients can get the highest quality care at the best possible price.

Why do I need Certainly?

It’s often difficult or not possible to know upfront how much healthcare will cost. In fact, the same service can vary in cost by as much as 10x across doctors. But there's historically been no easy way to see how much different treatments cost or how prices could differ by going to different doctors.

This is true for both medical and cosmetic procedures, which may or may not be covered by health insurance. For services covered by insurance, Americans on high deductible health plans (HDHP) must pay for most of the cost of care until their out-of-pocket max is met.

Certainly Health creates price transparency for you to compare and book the best provider for you while knowing how much you can expect to pay. In addition, for cosmetic procedures that are not covered by insurance, Certainly negotiates Exclusive Certainly Discounts with top providers to ensure you get the highest quality care at the best possible prices.
Who's behind Certainly Health?

What are Exclusive Certainly Discounts?

Certainly partners with top providers across NYC to offer Exclusive Certainly Discounts. These negotiated discounts ensure you get the highest quality care at the best price possible.
Who is eligible for Exclusive Certainly Discounts?

You must book your first appointment with a provider as a new patient through Certainly to access Exclusive Certainly Discounts. If you have previously seen the provider without booking through Certainly, they may choose not to apply the discount.
How do Exclusive Certainly Discounts work?

After booking a provider offering an Exclusive Certainly Discount, you’ll receive a QR code. At your appointment, show the code to the provider. If you chose “Pay Now” during checkout, the code shows the provider you’ve paid and redeems your purchase at the discounted rate. If you chose “Pay Later” during checkout, the code applies your discount before charging your card.
What is the difference between Pay Now and Pay Later?

When you “Pay Now,” you pay at the time of booking to redeem the best available discount for your treatment. Your credit card is charged immediately, and a QR code is generated for you to show at your appointment.

When you “Pay Later,” you do not pay anything at the time of booking your appointment. You only pay if you receive treatment at the office. You’ll receive a QR code to apply your Pay Later discount at the office, but the Pay Later discount usually won’t be as high as the Pay Now discount.

How are treatments redeemed when choosing to Pay Now?
When you choose to “Pay Now,” you’re able to access the best available discount for treatments with the provider. The price you pay is credited toward any treatment with that discount applied. Your credit is directly tied to the dollar amount paid, rather than a specific treatment (e.g. the defined number of units of Botox). This means that your payment covers the cost of the treatment you receive in that visit.

For example, if you pay $800, and during your visit you redeem $500 of treatment, the remaining $300 of value will be credited toward future visits.

How does my provider know I've paid upfront?
Show your QR code to the provider at your appointment, which will redeem your purchase.

What happens if I add additional treatment beyond what I paid upfront?
During your consultation with the provider, if you decide to change or add treatment beyond what you prepaid (for example, adding additional Botox units or changing to filler), your upfront payment acts as credit towards your final treatment cost. The Pay Later discount will apply to any remaining charges.

What happens if my treatment costs less than what I paid upfront?
If your treatment costs less than what you paid upfront, the remaining dollar value will be credited to your Certainly account. You can use this credit towards future bookings with any eligible providers on Certainly, not just the one you booked.

Can I use any leftover credits with other providers?
Yes, leftover credits can be applied to other eligible providers on Certainly. Note that prices may vary between providers, so the same treatment may have a different cost with a new provider.

What happens if I cancel or reschedule my appointment after booking with Pay Now?
In both situations, your payment is non-refundable, but it acts as Certainly credit for future bookings. You can use your credit for a rescheduled appointment with the same provider, or you can apply it to appointments with other eligible providers on Certainly.

Which providers offer Pay Now options?
Only providers offering Exclusive Certainly Discounts have Pay Now options. When browsing for providers, if a discount is shown, then you can Pay Now.

Medical Care

What is Certainly Price Protection?

All bookings come with Certainly Price Protection, which guarantees you won’t owe more than the prices listed for services based on your insurance.

After your insurance company sends an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) with the final amount due to the provider, we'll charge your card for the cost of services done during the visit.

If your insurance company sends an EOB that says you owe more than the amount listed in the Certainly Price Protection package, email a PDF or photo of the EOB to support@certainlyhealth.com, and we will pay the difference on your behalf.
Which medical services and procedures does Certainly guarantee?

The prices are only guaranteed for the listed services that appear in search results. If there are procedures not listed that you would like to see, email support@certainlyhealth.com and we'll add them as soon as possible.

What do prices that say "up to $..." mean?

Prices with "up to $..." are estimates of the maximum amount you may be billed by a provider if you don't pay through Certainly Health. Unpredictable insurance eligibility rules can lead to wide variances in each patient's out-of-pocket cost (e.g., if a patient ends up being out-of-network). Paying with Certainly Price Protection ensures you will see exact, guaranteed prices for the services listed under a provider.
How do payments work between Certainly, insurance, and the provider?

Your card will not be charged until after you receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance company.

We will pay the provider for you for any of the services listed in your Certainly Price Protection package.

If the provider performs any services not listed in your Certainly Price Protection package, you will be liable and have to directly pay the provider for those services.
Why can't I just pay the provider directly?

You can if you’d like! Certainly Price Protection simply ensures you won’t owe more than the prices listed for the specified services. You’re free to pay the provider directly if the amount you owe is less than or equally to the prices listed in Certainly Price Protection. You will never be double charged.
Will costs incurred during my visit count towards my deductible?

Yes. All billing will go through your insurance just like any other visit.
Which insurances does Certainly support?

Currently, our platform only supports patients with the listed insurance plans when searching, though we are working to add all insurance plans. Contact support@certainlyhealth.com to request we prioritize your insurance plan. Unfortunately, we are not able to support uninsured, Medicare, or Medicaid patients at this time.

Prices and Policies

Why would my actual treatment and cost differ from the prices I see?

Upon evaluating your specific condition, the provider may do more or fewer services that could change the final cost.

The predicted total shown is for services often done during similar patient visits with the same visit reason.
How do I cancel/reschedule an appointment?

Simply Log In or Sign up with the email you used to book the appointment. View your Appointments to cancel or reschedule. Links to cancel or reschedule an appointment can also be found in your confirmation email.
What is the cancellation policy?

Every provider has their own cancellation, rescheduling, and no-show policies. You will see the policy when you book your appointment and in your confirmation email. If necessary, you will be liable to pay any cancellation fees.

Referrals

How do referrals work?

    When your friend creates an account using your referral link, they will receive the referral credit towards any cosmetic treatment booked through Certainly.

    You will receive the referral credit in your account after your friend has paid for their cosmetic treatment booked on Certainly
Does my friend need to be a new Certainly user to be eligible for a referral?

What actions do my friends need to take?

Your friends should use your referral link to sign up. Then they will receive credit in their account to use for their first cosmetic appointment booked through Certainly.
When will I receive my referral credit?

You will receive your referral credit after your friend has paid for their cosmetic treatment from a provider booked on Certainly.
What can I use my Certainly credit for?

Your credit can be applied towards any provider booked on Certainly for cosmetic treatments. Cosmetic treatments are any services not covered by health insurance, such as Botox (including forehead, TMJ, hyperhidrosis, etc.), fillers, microneedling, and similar treatments.

You can use your credit for any new client visits or for any provider you've previously booked through Certainly.

Before completing your booking with a provider, you will see a confirmation of whether or not you can apply your credit.
How do I redeem my credit?

  1. Exclusive Certainly Discount Providers
    For providers offering Exclusive Certainly Discounts, you will receive a QR code after booking. Present this QR code to the provider to have your credit automatically applied.
  2. Other Providers
    For all other providers, please send a receipt of your treatment to support @certainlyhealth.com after your appointment. We will then send you an Amazon gift card within 24 hours.
    How can I see how many credits I have?

    What should I do if my credit doesn’t apply correctly?

    Certainly AI Assistant

    What is the Certainly AI assistant?

    The Certainly AI assistant is a virtual assistant, not an actual person. It offers personalized insights to help you book the best cosmetic appointment for you. 
    How does the Certainly AI assistant work?

    Our AI assistant uses artificial intelligence in two ways.
    1. When you ask a question, our AI assistant analyzes your words to understand your intent. Based on its understanding, it will select the most appropriate response from a predefined set of answers. This process involves using natural language processing to interpret and respond to your queries effectively. 
    2. When you upload an image to Certainly, our AI assistant makes a recommendation for how much Botox/filler/other cosmetic services you need, and where. For example, it might recommend that you need 40 units of Botox to address forehead lines.
    What kinds of questions can I ask Certainly's AI assistant?

    Our AI assistant is designed to help you with questions about cosmetic services, recommendations for treatments, information on providers, pricing, and booking. It may not be able to provide answers to questions outside of these areas.
    What kind of information does the AI Assistant use to make recommendations?

    Our AI assistant's recommendations are based on data provided by providers, including the types of treatments and common usage patterns, and specific feedback from other customers. Additionally, when you upload an image, the image is analyzed using AI specifically designed for cosmetic needs.
    Can the AI Assistant help me book an appointment?

    Yes, our AI assistant can guide you to available providers and help you navigate the booking process, but the actual booking confirmation will be handled on the Certainly Health website.
    Are my conversations with the AI Assistant recorded?

    Yes, conversations are recorded for quality assurance and improvement of our responses. However, all data is stored securely and used solely for internal improvement and support purposes. We do not share or sell your data.
